Program Description

WCWAA is proud to offer competitive soccer programs for players and families interested in progressing beyond the Micro and Recreation level.  Competitive soccer programs are offered for players starting at U8 and run through U19 through NCYSA and are subject to its rules and regulations.  WCWAA offers players the chance to try out for spots in the Youth Academy for U8-U10 and on Classic teams for U11 – U19.

Youth Academy

The Youth Academy is the entry into competitive soccer for U8 – U10 players.  Players participate in the NCYSA Youth Academy program.  Assessments take place in May for the subsequent fall and spring seasons.  Youth Academy is a fall and spring commitment each year.  Players are assessed each May for entry into the program.

Players selected into the Youth Academy are exposed to heavy emphasis on technical training and individual player development.  Rosters are created each week for Match Playedates against other member organizations of the NCYSA Academy Program.

Players practice twice per week during the season within the Academy.  Optional Additional Training is offered once a week in addition to regular practices.  Players also have the chance to attend Academy GoalKeeper Training during the season.

Youth Academy teams primarily play the 7v7 format for games.  Each season typically consists of 9 to 11 playdates with players being guaranteed at least 1 game per event.
